Last date for applying to Academy Of Third World Studies at Jamia is June 7OT, June 3, 2011 IST Okhla Times Campus Reporter/JMI The last date for submission of application forms for admission to courses at the Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar-Academy of Third World Studies (MMAJ-ATWS), Jamia Millia Islamia, is June 7, while the date of entrance test is scheduled to be held on June 23. The academy was conceived as an inter-disciplinary center for research on problems confronting the poor and backward countries referred to as the ‘Third World Countries’. Since then the MMAJ-ATWS has developed new courses on Human Rights, Pakistan Studies, Multiculturalism, Sustainable Development, Globalization and the Central Asia, and Human Rights. In the last two years it has also started new programmes on Bangladesh Studies and North-East Studies. The MMAJ-ATWS has emerged as a well-known Centre for International Studies specializing in Third World issues. The MMAJ-ATWS offers the following courses: M. Phil. with an intake of 20 students; Diploma in Uzbek with an intake of 10 students and Certificate courses in Uzbek and Kyrgyz with an intake of 20 & 10 students respectively.
