Candle march in Okhla today for NIA officer Tanzil killed in Bijnor


A few people in Okhla are taking out a candle march in Okhla today, according to Abdul Wahab. He said: “We are taking out candle march for Shaheed DSP Tanzil Ahmad who was killed by motorbike unidentified assailants in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh a few days ago while he was returning from attending a marriage of his relative. The march will begin today at 7 PM from 7 no thokar Shaheen Bag Zaid college and will end at Okhla Head.”

Tanzil originally from Bijnor has been living in Okhla for the last 15 years with his relatives. A Jamia Millia Islamia alumnus he was buried in Batla House. Since his death, according to daily reports, more than 100 people have been questioned to crack the case. However, no arrest has been made yet, claimed daily reports.

His wife and children who were in the car survived the attack with the wife undergoing treatment in a hospital as she too received life-threatening bullet injuries.
