Can this road being ‘built’ in Okhla withstand rain?

Can this road being ‘built’ in Okhla withstand rain? A few months ago this road was laid before the Assembly elections. And once again work is on to fill potholes to make the road smooth after residents’ outcry and several reports filed by OKHLATIMES highlighting the creaking road infrastructure in the locality backed with videos and photos.

canthisroadwithstandrainThe earlier road was not able to withstand monsoon and developed several potholes making life difficult for commuters. It is expected that this time too things may go worse one its rain.

This afternoon workers were seen on Abul Fazal Enclave road filling up potholes as the photo shows it all. Though residents have welcomed the move many are apprehensive and are not impressed by the shoddy work fearing that the road will be back to the same position if its rain.

It was not known which agency was involved in the road making, but residents are not satisfied with the work. Just a day ago some residents had organised peaceful sit-in protest at Okhla Head in front of Jamia Nagar police station demanding overhauling of roads and creaking infrastructure in the locality.

Following the development, several officials of agencies involved in road building were seen in the locality doing inspection. Many netizens had even shared photos of waterlogged roads and streets on the social media mounting pressure on the authorities to start work.
