Office-goers can enjoy seamless travel experience this summer and can visit their office without sweating as temperature rises in the coming days.
To address the situation the Delhi Transport Corporation has decided to soon run special, air-conditioned buses between residential localities in the suburbs and office areas. The ‘Point-to-Point Bus Service’ is not something new for Delhiites as it was started 20 years ago but was stopped due to poor response from passengers.
The service is to be provided from May 1.
“These buses will not stop anywhere on the way. Passengers travelling on these buses will be charged as per the existing normal AC bus fares,” a senior DTC official said. It has been reported that these special buses will leave residential areas between 8 AM and 8.50 AM and make the return journey around 6 PM.
The service will be provided in some the locations selected are: Dwarka, Janakpuri, Rohini, Patparganj and Badarpur.
The buses will connect these localities to Nehru Place, CGO complex, Shastri Bahwan, Shiavaji Stadium (Connaught Place) where a large number of offices are located.
Twenty low-floor buses will ply non-stop between destinations in residential localities in the suburbs and office areas in central, south, northwest Delhi.
