SDMC Budget 2018-19: Know what is there for you

Highlights of Budget 2018-19 presented by LoH Shikha Rai and adopted by the SDMC House on February 12.

Monthly pension hike from Rs 1000 to 2000 for the widows, seriously ill, affected with mental diseases, deserted women, kinnars, orphan children etc.

An amount of Rs 1400 crore due from Delhi Government on account of the funds yet to be released as per the recommendations of the 4th finance commission and Municipal reforms fund

Requests for filling up 5440 vacancies pending with the DSSSB

Ambit of Atal Jan Aahar Yojana to be increased.

Income Rs. 4571.71 cr, Expenditure Rs. 4900 cr.

Expenditure on Education Rs. 856.67, Public Health Rs. 228.45, Sanitation Rs. 1259.73, Engineering Rs. 936.81 and Horticulture Rs. 268.00 cr.

No hike in taxes; no new tax.

Property tax- no new tax, no hike in the tax, no reduction in the concessions/rebates.

Target of Property tax collection Rs. 715 cr. and transfer duty Rs. 600 cr.

40 thousand properties added in tax net during Amnesty scheme 2016-17

100 % penalty and 100% interest will be waved of on payment of full principle outstanding amount under the old ratable value system i.e prior to 31.03.2004.

Martyrs of the Armed forces and Para Military forces and their widows; medal winners of Olympics, Asian, and Common wealth games to get full rebate of their property tax for their one residential property on lumpsump payment of tax up to 30th June.

Ex- servicemen to get 30 percent rebate in the tax amount for their one residential property

Farmers original owners of the land in the village area to get full exemption of property tax on their own one residential self occupied property.

One percent education cess on due property tax

Mutation fee hiked from Rs. 150 to Rs. 1500.

Nursery section to be opened in 46 more schools

The ambit of SQEP to be enlarged

24 more schools will have green Boards in lieu of Black boards

204 schools to have smart class rooms by March 2018

Implementation of “Buniyad Project” to strengthen the basic knowledge of learning of Hindi, Eng and Math

Special stress on fire safety in the schools

Installation of CCTV cameras in the schools to be speeded up

Insurance of the students

Construction of a centralized common kitchen for the Mid day Meal at Kalkaji to begin soon

Saturday will be Bag less Day in schools; day dedicated to the extra curriculum activities.

Student fund for activities hiked from Rs. 46 to Rs. 100 for the interested students

Free sanitary pads to the girl students when required in schools.

Separate cadre for SDMC employees now exists; to facilitate early promotions

Separate pension account for release of pensions to the superannuated employees now exist, 9432 pension holders getting timely payment regularly

SDMC is not in favor of charging parking free for parking vehicles inside the colonies.

To enhance revenue from advertisements; advertisements on the colony gates, electricity poles, smart toilets, FCTSs, parks, tree guards to be allowed

Construction of storage for the Public Health department to store equipments, medicines and publicity material

Mobile health vans for JJ clusters

Cash less medical service for the employees

Hike in fodder allowance for the cows in Gaushalas from Rs 20 Rs 50

Rs 10 crore for taking out silt from the drains in unauthorized colonies and repairs and remodeling of drains.

Accelerated the process of notifying 351 roads as commercial/mixed use

Helped in getting reduction in conversion charges from Rs 89000 to Rs 22000, hike in FAR in the LSCs and permission for commercial activities in basements and godowns on agriculture land

On line licence for house hold industries with up to 5 Kw motor allowed

SDMC to issue temporary health trade licences in the fairs, trade fairs, exhibitions etc.

To finalize a new policy for licenses to authorized banquet halls and farm houses and for authorized vatikas and farm houses


To expedite process of making SDMC free from green waste

Irrigation in the parks from the recycled water of ETP/STPs

Irrigation in 100 parks with drip irrigation system

20 fitness trails under AMRUT scheme

Poor women and Dhobis now get sewing machine, dhobi press, a 5 kg filed cylinder and gas stove. No need to submit dhobi community certificate for getting dhobi press

Renaming schools, parks and community centre in the memory of the martyrs, freedom fighters and great leaders

Each councilor to get Rs. 10 thousand for celebration of national events like republic and Independence Day and Gandhi jayanti

Construction of male and female toilets for the employees and passengers, drivers at all entry points toll booths.
