British Telecom employee’s flat burgled in Batla House

Another robbery took place in a flat in Batla House as the owner of the house was away. According to Tarique Alam, Network Engineer with British Telecom, the robbers target his flat R-38 Batla House and took away all valuable belongings, including 4 branded value watches worth around Rs 90K, DSL camera Rs 30K, hard drive 5k, a few brand new clothes, TV worth Rs 30K, and many more items.

Narrating his ordeal, he said: “They entered from shaft of the building and there was no one in the flat. Police came and have taken the complaint. The Crime Branch also came and took the finger print and snaps.

“A few months ago, I had a slip disc and doctor suggested me complete bed rest for about two months. So I went to my hometown in Bihar and the robbery took place during this period.

“After coming to Delhi I will file FIR as police need my statement and the lost amount in terms of valuable items

“Some fifteen days ago I asked my cousin to visit my flat for some documents at that time everything was fine. Today again my cousin went to clean the flat as I was to arrive in Delhi and he was left stumped to see everything strewn over in the flat.”

Tarique resides in a rented flat.
