Braid cutting of schoolgirl in Batla House: Myth or reality; Girl, family members speak (video)

The report of braid chopping of a schoolgirl in Batla House grabbed headlines with OT.COM also running a story.

The report got overwhelming response with some readers not willing to believe the report. To get to the depth of the story, Zakir Nagar-based YouTuber Wasi Imam made a video based on interviews of girl and her family members.

Imama told OT.COM that after coming to know about the incident he went to the house and interacted the family members who told him that though they don’t believe is such things they were stumped that the her hair was cut when the doors of the house was closed.

It was in the morning, when the girl’s mother saw the hair cut and informed other family members.

This is not the first incident in Delhi as such incidents have been reported from other parts of the country too. A report pointed out that how police after coming to know about one such incident started investigation and found that the woman did it herself to get into limelight.

Though nothing can be said about the Batla House incident as police came to the spot and collected the hair and investigation is on.

Imam said after interviewing the family when he was returning home he interacted with residents in the mohalla who were talking about the incident. “I realised that many were not talking sense as the rumour mill was abuzz with residents narrating different stories behind the incident,” said Imam.
