Botanical society Hindu College inaugurated

Inauguration of Sanjeevani, the botanical society Hindu College by Meenakshi Lekhi.

Sanjeevani the botanical society of Hindu college was inaugurated for the academic session 2016-17. Lok sabha member Parliament Meenakshi lekhi, who is also the alumnae of botany department Hindu College graced the occasion as chief guest of the ceremony.

She discussed the various aspects of her journey from graduating from the college to the Indian Parliament.

She told the audience about the steps government of India took as to promote scientific culture in science laboratories in India.

She also informed the audience the way demonetisation is helpful in having more funds for research in India.

She emphasised that scientists in India need to move more towards patenting their discoveries. Discussing the environment topic she told how she introduced the concept of worshipping the trees instead of making them dumping grounds of waste, encouraging clean India campaign.

The logo of botanical society sanjeevani was also released by Lekhi, along with Prof. Veena Aggarwal, Dept. Of botany, Dr KR Sharma, teacher in-charge Dr Ravindra Kumar, Principal Dr Anju Srivastava.

Tree plantation was also done at botanical garden, by planting Yukka and Camphor tree by the chief guest and guest of honor Prof Veena. Master of the ceremony were Bageshwer Singh and Stanzin Lhadon.
