Since Apple launched its iPad many tech companies have been competing with each others to have a pie of the ever increasing and burgeoning tablet market by unrolling their products with better and new features. With each passing day the competition is getting stiffer for Apple. So has Apple surrendered?

Before discussing this let us take a look what is really happening in the industry and which are the companies that could throw a competition to Apple that is continues to surge ahead even in the absence of Steve Jobs.

Search-engine giant Google too has taken a plunge in tablet market by unveiling its most-talked about Nexus 7. Reviewers who have laid their hands on the gadget confirm that Nexus 7 is smaller and less expensive than Apple’s.

The other big player eyeing the tablet market includes Microsoft. The company has already announced that it too is girding up to jump in the tablet market by creating its own tablet that would be called Surface. Not to be left behind is Amazon. If we go by reports published in the US media then the online ecommerce giant is working overtime to update its Kindle Fire.

All the players involved in the cut-throat competitive tablet market know that only the best gadget would survive the competition and weaker product would perish. That is why no company worth its salt is ready to compromise on quality.

According to a recent New York Times report Apple engineers too are busy upgrading their already existing iPad that rules the roost in the tablet market. In the battle to win users’ heart and minds, Apple is working to introduce a new tablet whose price is being placed at something less than $499. The 7.85-inch screen tablet with its 9.7-inch display has the potential to wow gadget buffs. With the company yet to confirm its launch, industry watchers are keeping their finger crossed.

With tablet all set to replace PC and mobile, many companies are eyeing the market. In India we are still waiting for the launch of the upgrade Akash to be bought at much cheaper price than the big companies.
