The Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday awarded 68 winners of the 7th draw of ‘Bill Banvao Inaam Pao’ scheme of Department of trade & taxes, for the month of July and August at a function held at Delhi Secretariat.
K. K. Sharma, Chief Secretary Delhi and H. Rajesh Prashad, Commissioner VAT were also present on this occasion.
The prize winners were selected by draw of lots from the bills received, under the scheme. Total 68 persons (List enclosed) were selected to receive the prize. Mohd Imran Khan is a resident of Kalkaji.
“First time I saw a government doing their work honestly and giving direct benefits to public not only in this bill banvao inam pao scheme but also in other places like electricity and water, good going Kejriwal Sarkar, very good and intelligent moves,” Khan told OKHLATIMES.COM.
The scheme was launched by Sisodia, on January 18, 2016, by launching “DVAT BILL’ App which is available on Google Play Store and Appstore. The App can also be downloaded by giving a missed call on 011-25776903.
In the month of July and August 2016, 11 people got money of more than Rs.20,000/- including 4 persons who won a prize of Rs. 50,000/- each.
Speaking on this occasion, Sisodia appealed the people to become Brand Ambassador of the Bill Banvao Inaam Pao Scheme to enable the Government to collect tax (revenue) which will be further used for Delhi, its hospitals, roads, education, flyovers, better health and medical facilities for the welfare of the people. He also appealed the people to popularise the scheme Bill Banvao Inaam Pao Scheme, as it has become a movement against the tax evaders and is adding to the collection of tax.
Sisodia further said by participating in the Scheme and uploading the bills, people have effectively ensured that the hard earned money they pay as VAT reaches the government for development of the city” he added.
He thanked all the people of Delhi for their enthusiastic participation in the scheme. He also congratulated the winners present. He appreciated the efforts of the department in successfully implementing this innovative scheme.
Concluding the function RK Mishra Spl Commissioner thanked the present dignitaries and also members of bar, media and the departmental colleagues for the increasing impact of the scheme, which will go a long way for the development of Delhi.
Bill Banvao Inaam Pao is a very important scheme of the department.
The people are now insisting on issue for their purchase and are uploading the same through the App.
The scheme has helped the department in identifying the tax evaders. Many bills uploaded through the App were issued by cancelled dealers. Moreover, on verification of the bills in the shops, manipulation in the records by some dealers was also detected. The department has initiated strict action against such dealers including launch of prosecution. Thus, by participating in the scheme and uploading the bills, people of Delhi have helped in catching tax evaders and dealers indulging in manipulation of records and other malpractices. The department of Trade & Taxes is highly thankful to the people who have uploaded the bills through the DVAT Bill App.
H. Rajesh Prashad, Commissioner VAT congratulated the prize winners and also thanked of people who participated in the scheme in the month of July and August 2016 by uploading their bills.
