Bike-borne snatchers allegedly attacked Jamia Nagar-based Kashmiri girl at Jamia Gate 1, speed away with items.
Incidents of snatching by bike-borne youths are on the rise in Okhla. Several residents have lamented about how many among them have victim. In one such incident, a few weeks ago, Anida Ashfaq Bhut also became a victim of snatchers with the incident being reported at Jamia Gate 1.
In her complaint, 28-year-old Anida wrote: “I work in Holy Family Hospital. And on March 4 got out of my house to reach the hospital at 6:50 am and at about 7:10 am reached Jamia Gate number 1. Two youths on motorcycle were coming from behind and snatched my purse. I fell down and got minor injuries and got treatment in Holy Family. The bag contains Rs 1,200 cash, 1 mobile phone and other items.”
She is resident of J&K.
A few days ago another incident of snatching had taken place in Abul Fazal Enclave with one victim terming Ret Ka Teela the most dangerous place to tread after sunset.
Several residents lamented that they are deeply worried but increase in such incidents and at times feel unsafe while travelling in the locality.
Many residents have suggested their family members to be extra careful while travelling with bags and mobiles on the road.
