Rizvi is among three shooters selected from India to represent the country at the world meet.

“I am feeling proud. Three people have been selected from India,” Rizvi told OKHLATIMES. Young Rizvi is also student of Jamia Millia Islamia.

A resident of Merut in Uttar Pradesh, he has been living in Okhla for the last three years. Rizvi has been training for the last 13 years to hone his skills and he has won several awards, including a Bronze in Finland. When asked about his training, he said: “Training is expensive but the government provides all help during competition time. In normal days one has to pay from his pocket. Four days in a week I visit Tughlakabad for training and practice for four to five hours.”

Son of a farmer, Rizvi now aims Gold and he hopes to get it this time around in Poland where the competition is to begin in September. Rizvi told OKHLATIMES that his cousins too are into shooting.
