It is common thing to see people talking on their smartphones while they are walking alone. You too must be doing it regularly. However, after reading this report you will certainly think twice before taking out your smartphone from your pocket if you are walking alone in Jamia Nagar’s streets.
A recent incident with a Batla House resident is an eye-opener for others. A resident has filed a complaint that how when he was returning from a mobile shop late night in Batla House a man came from behind and snatched his phone and fled.
“On July 22 I was returning to my home from a mobile shop at 11.30 PM. When I reached 20 foot Batla House road one person snatched my HTC mobile from behind and started running. He entered into a lane close by my house. I started shouting and my brother came out and nabbed the snatcher. The man threw the mobile on the ground and broke it. We hold the man and called the PCR and handed him over to police. During questioning the man told us that he was a resident of Batla House. We want action against him,” wrote the resident in his complaint to the official.
This is not the only case in Jamia Nagar as reports of mobile snatching are emanating from time to time.
Another resident filed a complaint recently in which he pointed out that how two people on a bike snatched his mobile phone and fled from the spot in Shaheen Bagh. As he was walking he was unable to do anything save filing the report.
