A kidnapping case of a two-year-old boy has been solved with the arrest of his biological father and his live-in partner in Jamia Nagar, police have said.
After the arrest of the duo, Jamia Nagar police reunited the child with his mother.
“On June 6 Mumtaz resident of Jaitpur lodged a complaint at Jamia Nagar Police Station regarding kidnapping of her daughter’s two-year-old son,” said police.
It was following which an investigation was taken up.
To locate the child, raids were conducted at different areas of Delhi and Bareilly, Uttar Pardesh. Also, to crack the case, police announced reward of Rs 20,000 to those providing information about it.
“Initially the biological child’s father Shahid, resident of Batla House, mislead police team. But when police raised suspicion, he disappeared from the picture. With the help of technical surveillance, the man was located in Laxmi Nagar,” said police.
“They then traced him and tried to contact him but he avoided them. On this, several raids were conducted in Delhi and various part of Uttar Pradesh but the man could not be found,” said Romil Baaniya, DCP southeast.
After hard work, on a tip-off given by one resident, police were able to locate him and raid was conducted and Shahid along with his live-in partner got apprehended and the kidnapped child recovered from them.
“During the course of interrogation the accused the accused disclosed that he was in relationship with the woman two years ago and had a son form her. But at around one and half year ago the woman married to some other person and the accused wanted to keep the child, which the woman has denied. So, he hatched a conspiracy with his present live-in partner to kidnap the child and take revenge,” said police.
It was on June 25 when he called the woman’s mother Mumtaaz with his son for Eid shopping at Batla House, from where, as per their conspiracy, he gave the child to another woman on the pretext to give juice to him and she went away with the child from there.
Police said the accused is from Bihar and is a local regional dancer and actor and worked in some regional music albums.
