A fire in a building at Muradi Road in Batla House was doused late night, according to resident. Mohd Rashid Ilyas said: “Fire in the building at Muradi Road in Batla House at 12:30 am…Fire brigade was informed….”
Another resident Rashid Khan shared the information: “Many fire brigades seen near Batla House…fire somewhere…”
Another resident Anisur Rahman confirmed the development. “It was at about 1:00 am when I got up I saw flames coming out of a building,” he said. It is understood that the fire was doused. How the fire broke out in the building is yet not known.
Residents still remember the fire in Shaheen Bagh that had taken place years ago in which the kabari market was gutted incurring huge loss to local traders. Then too fire brigades had turned up on time to douse the fire. After hours of operation, the fired was doused successfully. Another fire incident in Shram Vihar had grabbed headlines a few months ago in which a few animals too had perished.
In another incident, a fire had broken out near Kanchan Kunj. Then alert residents had managed to douse off the fire on their own. The incidents of fire in peak summer mostly due to short circuit do take place across Delhi.
