Batla House firing: Full report that will make you hang your head in shame. Shahabuddin of Batla House was shot at for not letting a few youths to pluck datwan from a neem tree that is located in his courtyard in Joga Bai Extension, according to reliable sources.

When denied entry, the youth got into altercation with Shahabuddin’s family members in the afternoon, said sources.

It is understood the youth needed the datwan so as to clean their teeth before breaking their fast.

“As they are from one place, a panchayat was called in to resolved the issue. Things were settled. But at about 9 pm a few youth angered over being denied the datwan, shot at Shahabuddin,” said Zakir Nagar resident and Congress leader Pervez Alam Khan.

It is understood that the attackers beat up Shahabuddin Saifi and then fired in the air. Six rounds were fired, said Khan.

OKHLATIMES was unable to independently verify it. But to buttress his claim Khan shared on his timeline photo of bellet recovered from the spot.

Khan was the first resident in the locality to post the photos and information on his social media timeline.

The injured Shahabuddin was rushed to a hospital where he is undergoing treatment. His condition is serious as he is still in the trauma centre, said Khan.

Many residents were shocked with the development. “It is shocking to know that this man was shot at on such a petty issue that too in Ramzan, a month when Muslims are asked to keep patience. The situation in the locality has really gone from bad to worst in the last few months with crime increasing and cases of murder taking place,” said a resident on condition of anonymity fearing to be targeted for expressing his views.
