More pain ahead as banks to remain closed for 3 days?

People hit by demonetization could face more hardship as the banks are going to remain closed for three days starting from December, 10 (second Saturday), December, 11 (Sunday) and December 12 ( Eid Milad-ul-Nabi).

Residents’ cash pain could exacerbate in case if ATMs run dry as people have to bank on them to withdraw cash. But that could not be the case as chances are high that ATMs will be replenished by cash and there is nothing to panic, said sources.

The banks could see long queues on Tuesday when they open till then people are expected to line outside ATMs to get cash. In Okhla many people are seen moving around late night looking for ATMs. A resident said he travelled all the way from Abul Fazal Enclave to Nehru Place to take out money at 2 am.
