A few minutes ago words were doing the rounds in Okhla that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is expected to visit Batla House to meet Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan, who was granted bail in a case on July 28.
However, now it has been confirmed by AAP workers that he is not to visit the locality.
Earlier, Mahmood Ahmed had told OKHLATIMES that the Delhi CM is coming to the locality tomorrow at about 11 am to meet Amanatullah at his residence. After a few minutes he said the programme has been cancelled.
Had Delhi CM arrived in Batla House as proposed earlier, this would have been his first visit to Batla House.
It is to be noted that on July 24 MLA Khan was arrested from his house after a woman alleged that she was threatened at his residence where she has gone to discuss power cuts, an allegation that the MLA and his party has rubbished. His arrest had sparked strong reaction from party leaders, including Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.
While giving bail, Additional Sessions Judge Raj Kumar Tripathi said as reported by IE: “She (complainant) alleged she was receiving threatening calls from unknown numbers, asking her to withdraw her case or change the statement. The complainant has nowhere alleged that it was the accused who made any threatening calls to her.”
