A total of 4,627 degrees and diplomas will be awarded to students who have successfully completed M.Phil., Post-graduation, Graduation and Diploma courses in 2015 from different faculties/departments/centres at the Annual Convocation 2016 to be held on Friday at the varsity’s sprawling Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi Sports Complex at 11 am.
Union Minister of State for HRD (Higher Education) Mahendra Nath Pandey will be the Chief Guest.
Gold medals will be presented to 169 toppers of different courses. 263 Ph. D. degrees will also be awarded to those research scholars whose results have been notified up to October 2016.
Professor MC Misra, Director, AIIMS will be the Guest of Honour at the event which coincides with ‘National Education Day’ celebrations across the country to commemorate the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna and first Education Minister of Independent India, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
Jamia Vice-Chancellor Professor Talat Ahmad will deliver the Vice-Chancellor’s Address on the occasion.
Others to attend to the function included the university’s Chancellor, Lt Gen (Retd) M A Zaki, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof Shahid Ashraf, Registrar, AP Siddiqui, IPS, Deans, Heads of Departments and Directors of Centres, faculty members and students.
