Before joining the Police Services, Siddiqui, an LL.M. from Aligarh Muslim University, taught in the Law faculties in Jodhpur and Jabalpur universities as Assistant Professor. He is also gold medalist in B.Sc. (Zoology Hons.) in 1986.

Siddiqui said that he decided to move to Jamia because of the distinct academic environment of universities and also because of his initial grounding in the teaching profession.

“Jamia has a lot of potential being a central university and students should not develop a fixed mindset. They must work hard to take up contemporary challenges and prepare themselves to survive in the cut throat competition of today” said Siddiqui.
