Report clears air about AMOUBA Delhi election

Since the returning officer was appointed on August 22 for AMOUBA Delhi election (AMU Old Boys Association Delhi), there has been heightened curiosity among Aligarh alumni about the date of election. Many AMU alumni said some among them are upset as the schedule of election has not been announced. Also, some lamented that the venue too has not been announced.

Ending the speculation, AMOUBA Delhi president Irshad Alam cleared the air. In a conversation with OT.COM a few days ago over phone, he said all procedures are being followed and elections will be held on time.

The first thing that the AMOUBA is doing is to hold membership drive after which voters’ list will be readied, said Alam, adding that membership drive is open until October 15.

A source said on the condition of anonymity said the executive committee had declared that election will be held in the last week of November and final list will be prepared with new list on October 20.

Earlier, in a statement issued by a senior AMU alumnus, a get together was held in a very cordial atmosphere, with Aligarian spirit where healthy discussion took place. It is understand it was in one such meeting that a new RO’s name was announced.
