Three AAP MLAs, including Amanatullah, booked for assaulting woman in House; Okhla MLA Khan calls it conspiracy.
It appears that fresh trouble is brewing up for Okhla MLA Amanatullah Khan with report surfacing that he with two other Aam Admi Party MLAs have been booked on charges of assault after a woman alleged she was beaten and manhandled by them during Delhi Assembly session on June 28.
While talking to OT.COM, the MLA termed the allegation as a conspiracy against him and other MLAs.
After the woman filed a complaint, police have registered a case against the three, reported The Hindu.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Jatin Narwal said: “FIR under section 323/342/354/ 354A(1)/509/34 IPC was registered at Civil Lines police station on the complaint of a lady against 3 MLAs about the incident of June 28 Investigation is in progress.”
Delhi Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel said police “cannot lodge any FIR pertaining to an incident within Vidhan Sabha premises” on their own. Also, he said the complaint had not reached his office.
“I was peacefully standing when Jarnail Singh and Amanatullah Khan came outside and cornered me into a room where two people were already being beaten up. Later Somnath Bharti also joined,” the woman, in her complaint, wrote as quoted by The Hindu.
