Akhtarul Wasey’s homecoming after 24 months

Akhtarul Wasey a well-known professor of Islamic studies is back on the campus after staying away from it for more than 24 months.

For the last two years he worked as National Commissioner for Linguistic Minorities in India. It was on Monday when he joined Jamia, where before joining NCMLI, he was the Head of the Department.

After returning on Tuesday he participated in an event held by Islamic Studies Department. Professor Wasey is to retire in August. Born on September 1, 1951, Professor Wasey has won several awards. In 2013 Professor Wasey received a Padma Shri award.
