Abducted 6-year-old Okhla girl found in UP

Local police’ efforts to trace a missing girl yielded positive results. Reports surfaced about how a 6-year-old girl from Taimoor Nagar was kidnapped a week ago from her residence only to found from Jaitpur in Uttar Pradesh.

TOI report claimed that Jhallu, who was out of jail, was arrested and used to live next door of victim’s house. “As the family had recently come to Delhi to earn livelihood, they did not have any picture of the girl to help us identify her. Her photograph was arranged from the list of minor children under the ‘Pehchan’ scheme. The picture was shown to all the residents of the area and adjoining areas of Shri Niwas Puri, Nizamuddin, Jamia Nagar, Okhla and Nehru Nagar,” said MS Randhava, DCP southeast.

However, it was a telephone call from the accused to his brother that helped police reach him and then rescue the girl.
