6th Tagore Utsav a huge hit

Aseem Asha Foundation with Raza Foundation and Jamia Millia Islamia organsied 6th Tagore Utsav on May 8 and 9 at MF Hussain Art Gallery, Jamia. Several events were held with students and others taking part in the event that was a huge hit under the mentorship of Aseem Asha.

In art competition, some 200 students from different schools participated. Moreover, a panel discussion by renowned writer Sukrita Paul, noted TV personality Sadhana Srivastava, Padmashir Ustad Wasifuddin Dagar and noted author Bhaichand Patel was held.

Also, poetry reading by Sahitya Akademi prize winnter Dr Suhail Ahmed Farooqi was held that captivated the audience. He received an award in translating Tagore’s Gitanjali in Uru by Sahitya Akademi.

Togore stories were also ready by theatre artist Sukhangshu Chatterjee.


Sufi Kalaam was aired by Bollywood singer Indira Naik. Urdu poetry reading session was held by Saif Mohamood. The biggest attraction was release of Tagore peace souvenir by Adiba and Zainab.

This is not for the first time that the Asha Foundation organised such an event in the locality. The Foundation has been at the forefront in training underprivileged children and guiding them in the right direction.

The Foundation is run a Jamia alumnus who is based in Johri Farm. After completing his Master’s from MCRC, Aseem dedicated his life for the uplift of downtrodden and floated the Foundation.
