With the arrest of six accused people, 38 HP laptops with accessories worth Rs 13,72,000 has been recovered by the team of PS Okhla Indl Area, New Delhi.
The action was taken based on a complaint by one Sandeep Sharma, a branch manager of a private limited company that his company used to provide logistic and transport facility to warehouses all over India and HP is one of his client having its warehouse at Okhla Industrial Area.
In the complaint, he wrote that on December 5 total 140 laptops were loaded in their vehicle and the shipment was about to deloaded at their warehouse situated at Dhorka, Gurgaon, Haryana. On checking of the shipment total 38 laptops were found missing/stolen and stone tiles were found packed in the laptop boxes of cardboard and he suspected involvement of some insider in the incident.
Following which a case was registered and investigation taken up.
A team was formed to crack the case and after developing the leads and during the course of investigation, all the related documents of shipment were collected and movement of vehicle on GPS was also checked. After analysing the documents and movement of vehicle, suspicion zeroed down to driver, who was interrogated and he confessed his involvement in the incident and was arrested.
Later on other accused were also arrested.
Further investigation is in progress to arrest the co-accused from Mumbai and recover remaining laptops, said Deputy Commissioner of Police, South East District, Delhi.
