3 Okhla children orphaned as journey of mother Khalida, father Khan turns fatal

The death of Nausher Khan and Khalida in a road accident on a national highway a few days ago has left three young children orphaned. The son who also met with an accident is back at his Zakir Nagar house. Family members told OKHLATIMES.COM that the accident had taken place after the tyre of the vehicle had gone bust with the vehicle hitting the divider. They family was going to attend a marriage in Uttar Pradesh village.

deadparentsKhalida’s relative Shakil Ahmed who was driving the car died on the spot. Khalida was also declared brought dead. The other family members, Khalida’s husband Khan and three children, who were sitting in the back seat, also sustained life-threatening injuries. They were rushed to Delhi where they were admitted in a hospital.

Family members said Khan too succumbed to his injuries. The accident has left family mothers in deep shock. Many residents still remember how a few months ago a woman passerby by killed in a freak road accident. A relative of that woman said that a rogue biker had rammed into her as she was getting down of an e-rickshaw in Abul Fazal Enclave. The woman fell on a divider receiving injuries on her head. She was rushed to a local hospital where doctors declared her brought dead.

The rogue biker made his way after the accident. Moreover, many residents lamented that as dense fog continues to envelop Delhi, including Okha, driving on some parts of the locality is full of risk. There are several dark spots in the locality and of them one most popular being the AFE-Kalindi Kunj road on Yamuna River side. With no street lights and divider without having any signs, commuters really find it hard to travel on this road at night and early morning.

Several attempts to mount pressure on the local leadership and authorities to get things fixed at the earlier have failed to yield positive results.
