Hurry up! 2 more days left to apply at Jamia

Jamia Millia Islamia has extended the last date for submission of online application forms to various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma/certificate programmes offered by Jamia for the academic session 2016-17 up to April 25 till 12.00 midnight.

The e-prospectus for admission may be downloaded from the university website jmi.ac.in/admission.

Candidates desirous of admission are required to register themselves at jmi.ac.in/onlineadmissionform and fill up the Online Application Form as per procedure provided on the portal. For further details, visit the university website (jmi.ac.in).

“Numerous requests were received by Vice Chancellor Talat Ahmad from students and parents from across the country for extending the deadline as people in few areas got to know about the admission announcement for the upcoming academic session late,” said Jamia spokesperson, adding that the deadline has now been extended till April 25.

Once the process is over, Jamia is to conduct entrance examinations for all its courses in 7 centers across the country. Till now the university has received a record 1.49 lakh applications for over 6000 seats.

Earlier, April 21 was the last date for applying at Jamia’s several courses.

From the upcoming academic session, Jamia is also introducing nine new courses including – MA Politics, International and Area Studies, MA Arab-Islamic Culture, MTech Computer Engineering, MTech Electronics and Communication Engineering, MA Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy.

The other new courses include Certificate in Chinese Language (Part-time), Diploma in Chinese Language (Part-time) Intensive Diploma in Chinese Language and BA LLB (Hons) (self-financed).

Also, from this year there will be a common entrance test for admission to diploma courses (Regular an Self -Financed) of University Polytechnic, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Besides, the new courses the BA with Computer Application (BACA) course has been merged with BA Programme and its total intake has been increased to 65, reported PTI.
