A death of one person in a road accident after a trolley hit a two-wheeler in a part of Okhla has left residents stumped.
The incident has come a few months after an accident at Kalindi Kunj in which the whole family riding on a motorbike had died after the bike met with an accident.
In the latest development, one person is critically injured in the accident that occurred near the Sukhdev Vihar bus stop at around 5.15 am when the trolley truck, used to transport cars, hit a scooty.
Twenty-four-year-old Sushil Kumar, on the scooty, died on the spot. Another man was rushed to a hospital. PTI reported that Vikash (17) is currently admitted to the AIIMS Trauma Centre where his condition is stated to be critical, said a senior police officer.
One of the riders was wearing a helmet as broken pieces of it were found from the spot, police said.
After hitting the scooty the truck is reported to have fled from the spot by leaving the vehicle. However, hunt was on to nab him, they added.
Police are trying to get CCTV footage from the area to ascertain the exact sequence of events, reported the agency, adding that they will also be questioning the company that had employed the accused driver.
